Potpourri Meeting – various talks by members

1. What if our solar system had a ……………?

As the title suggests we can in real time run simulations and explore what if our solar system had a:

a) 100 solar mass blackhole at the distance of Saturn
b) A Jupiter but at the distance of Mars
c) A second Sun at the distance of Neptune
d) A moon which is orbiting close to Roche limit of its planet
e) members can also share their ideas

2. Imaging the Apollo 17 Landing Site

I will be briefly going over the Apollo missions, showcasing my images of the landing sites on the moon, explaining the details of my images, and showing others how they can image the landings sites too.

Getting There:


Paid parking in lot 8 is adjacent to the Recreation Athletics and Wellness Centre.

Use the entrance facing Outer Circle road.  Walk up the stairs up to the second floor.  Continue past Tim Hortons on the second floor and turn right.  Follow the hallway to the room 2074 -- look for the RASC banner.

OR

To use the elevators, continue straight on after you enter the building.  Take the elevator to the second floor.  Turn left out of the elevators and continue down the long hallway to room DW2074 -- look for the RASC banner.  If you go by Tim Hortons to the stairs going down, you've gone the wrong way.
